Since 2020, the Bianca Centre has benefited from financial support from Dutch partners to assist its trainees at the end of their training through the provision of installation kits and working capital. This support has enabled many beneficiaries to start an income-generating activity and move towards economic autonomy.
However, due to funding constraints, support in 2025 has been limited to the provision of kits to the 2023-2024 graduating class. For the class of 2024-2025, there are no plans to provide even partial support.
Aware of the positive impact of this support on the socio-economic integration of the girls trained, the Bianca Centre is appealing to all its technical and financial partners to support the 94 learners who have completed their training for 2024-2025. In the absence of a grant, the Centre has entered into discussions with the Sahelp Association in the Netherlands, which is offering repayable loans of 295,000 CFA francs (euros) over a period of three (03) years, with a six-month grace period. This solution was well received by the beneficiaries and their families, who expressed their willingness to commit to repaying the loan. However, Sahelp will not be able to take on all 94 trainees.
The Bianca Centre reaffirms its agreement in principle to this loan-based approach, while seeking the support of partners to strengthen the scheme, in particular by providing installation kits tailored to the needs of young girls.
